Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging

I'm reading the same book as last week. For those of you who didn't see my blog last week, you might think the book is very inappropriate, but I promise it's not. The title is a bit misleading, and so are most of the titles in the series. The books are good though. They talk about the life of a teenage girl named Georgia. She struggles with what most teenagers struggle with, insecurities, boys, and school.

On the part I stopped at, Georgia has just met a boy that she considers to be the most handsome boy she has ever seen. She immediately becomes smitten. It's almost like love at first sight. I think this book definitely is realistic to teenage girls nowadays. It is relatable, and can help girls when they feel like they are in a slump. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Nervous Conditions Project

Today, me and my group presented our Nervous Conditions project. Our project focused on examples of double meanings in the text. Most of which I noticed had come from Nyasha. Most of the time, it is about her not wanting to eat in order to stay skinny.

Overall, I think our project was pretty good. We made our points clear, so people weren't confused on what we were talking about. I think our presentation was well planned and executed. Overall, I think we all did good. I felt very proud of my project and hope to get an A on it.

Spring Break

I know how I said I was ready for summer, but spring break is definitely coming sooner. I cannot wait! I think I'll be going on vacation with my mom, and my new stepdad to this cool place called WaterColor. Not sure if I'm going, but I know it's this really cool spa place, and it's just what I need. School is really starting to stress me out, and I'm pretty sure at this point, everyone wants a break right now.

For the most part, I'm ready to be on the beach, and getting ready to tan. That's probably one of my favorite parts of vacation. It's almost like a momentum. But I'm also excited because I think I get to visit my other relatives who I don't see very much. It's always good to keep your family close because they are always there for you.

Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging

I know what you think. From the title of my book, it may seem a little inappropriate. I promise it's not. Or it doesn't seem to be so far. The book is called Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging. It's the first in a series of books that are the confessions of Georgia Nicolson. In this book, Georgia faces the normal troubles of a teenager: feeling insecure, questioning why she's still single, and dealing with everyday teen problems. In the beginning of the book, it's weird, but she shaves off her eyebrows, and refuses to leave her house.

I can definitely relate to this book. Part of being a teenage girl is stressing over guys. For the most part, there is definitely a lot of insecurity involved. I like how the book deals with this in a humorous way though. It teaches us that sometimes we need to stop, and laugh at the moments in life, because everyone has those embarrassing moments.

My Mom's Wedding

This weekend, is my mom is getting married. I'm excited because I get to see my family members come in town. My sister came in last week, and I haven't seen her in two years. She's been halfway across the world so she was surprised to see how much I had grown up. My grandmother will also be coming into town on Wednesday night.

I'm a little scared about having a new stepdad. I don't know how my life will change with him living with us, and his 6 kids. I don't think they'll be living with us most of the time, but it's still going to be hard to manage all of us together. I'm hoping for the best though and trying to stay optimistic!

Deadly Cool

This week, I started to read this book called Deadly Cool. It's about a girl who's boyfriend has been cheating on her and she found out. He's been the #1 suspect of a murder, and she has to find a way to help him, despite what went on between them. I haven't gotten very far in the book, but so far I think it's good.

This book is one of the books that I can't really relate my life too, because my life is definitely not filled with that kind of crime and mystery. I really like mystery books though. They keep you reading because you want to know what happens next. I hope to finish this book by the end of the week.

Summer

I know it seems too soon to be thinking about this, but I've been thinking a lot about summer. It's the time when you get a break from everything. You don't have to stress, or worry about school, and the most important part is to just have fun, because that's what everyone else is doing. But my favorite part has to be the clothes. Everything on pinterest has me wanting to go shopping for summer clothes, and to drive to the beach as fast as possible.

The only bad thing is that here in Louisiana, the summers are always hot and humid. It's not very enjoyable, and find myself feeling gross every second I'm outside. You could spend 5 minutes outside, and just randomly start sweating. It's a gross thought to think about. But that's also what I like about summer, because a dip in the pool is much more enjoyable.

Girls Acting Catty

This week, I decided read the first book in the Gallagher series. The book is called I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have To Kill You. The book is about a girl named Cammie who goes to a spy school called the Gallagher Academy. It's an all girls school, so she hasn't had a boyfriend before. She meets a boy, and has to fake her identity so that he doesn't find out that she goes to this school.

I don't think I can really relate to this book. My life has never really been this interesting. I think it would be cool to go to a spy school though. It seems like there's so many adventures that would come your way. But I can definitely relate with her boy problems. Sometimes girls feel like they have to be someone else in order to impress a guy. Her situation is a little different though. She has to do it in order to protect her school, and to make sure that no one finds out about it.
